Telehealth Q & A
What is Telehealth?
Telehealth is a way to virtually connect with your medical team to establish or continue care. Patients are able to participate using either their smart phones or personal computers, provided they have rear-facing cameras.
During a telemedicine visit, you will be able to connect with your physician or medical team and discuss your health, show areas where you may hurt, and then together come up with a plan to assist in your long term pain management care.
What is Telehealth used to treat?
Telemedicine virtual health visits can be used to establish care for new patients and be used for routine follow up care for existing patients. All types of chronic pain issues can be dealt with via Telemedicine.
Talk to Dr. Bowers about how Telehealth (virtual appointments) might be the right choice for you.
What should I expect during my Telehealth visit?
During a typical Telemedicine visit, the patient and doctor will meet virtually at the appointment time and then update each other on the status of the treatment plan. New issues can be raised. Therapies may be electronically prescribed and if necessary, certain tests may be ordered or outside referrals can be created.
Dr. Bowers, in conjunction with each patient, will strive to come up with a personalized treatment plan. You may be scheduled for a follow up visit to check on how well a treatment plan is going, which of course, you can do in the same way as the first visit. Depending on your condition, you might need to have occasional follow up treatments to maintain your pain relief.
Is Telehealth safe?
Telehealth is simply a virtual doctor’s office visit. We are able to harness the power of technology to bring a double board certified Anesthesiology/Pain Management specialist’s care to your home or office, without unnecessary risk of exposure to you.
